Neighbourhood Focus: Everton Park is Singapore’s hidden little foodie enclave.
Very few of the original establishments in Everton Park still serve their initial purpose. It is amazing to see, that amidst the drastic cultural makeovers the neighbourhood had gone through, it still managed to keep its distinct, mysterious charm intact.
These HDB blocks (public housing in Singapore) were cleverly transformed into shop houses that double as a self-sustaining culinary microcosm – one that steadily supplies adjacent communities with a taste of home, away from home.
If you have time and energy to spare, let this labyrinth of new boutiques, cafes and small-scale shops awaken your inner gourmet traveller. In every turn you take in its maze-like pathways lies a chance to try something new or rediscover something old.
For the artisan coffee enthusiasts, Everton Park is where you can find pioneer café Nylon Coffee. To those who can’t resist sweet cravings, Grin Affair desserts will satisfy your sugar rush. If you are into specialty sandwiches or generous slices of beefsteak at affordable prices, Marble Bistro got you covered.
Ultimately, your hungry heart does not need to travel far to taste the world; sometimes, all you need is a quick browse through your neighbourhood at Tanjong Pagar MRT Station and you are good to go.
Landed in the quaint Everton hood to avoid the F1 crowd over the weekends and tried out this relatively new cafe that serves interesting food. . Love their mushroom soup with truffle cream froth served in a cup (yup, that's not coffee ☕️in case you're wondering), their fried chicken with curry sauce packed with enough curry powder to give that kick, the mac&cheese is worth a mention too since it comes with unique milky cheese (unlike your usual nacho cheddar cheese) and their fish&chips that is made up of fried unagi on potato ? topped with ebiko with separately added vinegar. The duck pasta was alright too but lack the x-factor compared to the rest. Prices range from $6-9 per small plate. . #marblebistro #evertonpark #onthetable #JoEuGoEat
